The Copa Libertadores is the quintessence of South American football. Organised by CONMEBOL, it brings together the best teams from the region every year. It is the equivalent of the European Champions League(bet on the Champions League at bwin). During the history of this tournament, 25 teams from seven countries have won the competition.

The last two finals were encounters between Brazilian teams: Flamengo, Santos and Palmeiras, the double defending champion. At the previous edition, Brazilian teams played better than the entire competition. Five of the eight quarter-finalists were Brazilian. Betting on Brazilian teams
For the start of the season, before the group stage, the three favourite teams are Flamengo, Atletico MG and Palmeiras. The creativity and dribbling quality of these three Brazilian teams are exceptional.
Only one team, Atletico MG, finished the last Libertadores unbeaten. Indeed, the new Brazilian champion, who gave up just four goals in 12 games, was eliminated with the away goal rule.
Bet on Palmeiras, the double title defender
SE Palmeiras is the double defending champion. Its two victories in 2020 and 2021 were achieved in extra time. The team coached by Abel Ferreira joined Sao Paulo, Santos and Gremio in the pantheon of Brazilian teams with three titles in this competition.
In 54% of Libertadores matches this season, Palmeiras did not concede a goal. It is a formation that knows how to bend without breaking and then hurting its opponent.
Bet on Argentine teams
The Argentine teams, however, are not hopeless. Boca Juniors with 6 Libertadores and Independiente are the most successful clubs in CONMEBOL competitions, winning 18 trophies each. Independiente holds the record for most Copa Libertadores wins with seven titles. It is followed by Uruguayan club Peñarol with five trophies.
